Independence Day Jobs Fair The Department of Labor and Employment will hold the 2006 Independence Day Jobs and Livelihood Fair tomorrow, June 12, at Rizal park in Manila. Acting Labor Secretary Danilo Cruz said some 135 local employers and 34 licensed overseas employment agencies will set up booths to welcome job applicants. The one-day fair will be from 8:00 Am to 4:00 PM. Jobseekers are encouraged to bring as many resumes, photos, and other pertinent documents as they can so they can file multiple applications with different companies.

1) Business Development Officers — college graduate, at least 5 years selling experience, must have a successful track record in sales preferably managing dealers and key accounts in a consumer setting or similar function; minimal supervision and highly energetic and motivated person, planning, execution and post project evaluation skills required; highly effective and visible negotiation skills, volume and peso forecasting and logistics know-how; effective presentation skills; willing to be assigned in Northern or Southern Luzon, Visayas and/or Mindanao.

2) Electrician – college graduate or a certificate holder of Industrial Electrical Technology; 1 to 2 years experience in this job or jobs leading to it. Basic electrical principles; basic computer operation skills, interpersonal skills.

3) Driver – high school graduate, hlder of a professional driver’s license; 1 to 2 years experience in collection work or similar field; familiar with city roads, districts and areas, knowledge of simple/basic mechanical repairs, knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.
