Jobs Fair

Let me start the year right with an apology. I haven’t been an active blogger lately because the Blas F. Ople Policy Center is in the thick of preparations for our Commemorative Jobs Fair for the 80th Birthday of the late Ka Blas F. Ople. Everytime I hear about a jobs fair, I thought it was a fairly simple event to organize and manage. Boy, was I wrong! As they say, the devil is in the details – letters to send, booths to canvass and select, securing the right venue, getting sponsors, and coordinating all these efforts takes a great deal of time and energy.

The plus side is that all this hard work is paying off. Our jobs fair will be held on February 2, the day before my dad’s birth anniversary. This falls on a Friday. It will be a one-day event at the central plaza of Market!Market!.

For those who want to grab an employer’s booth or be among our noble sponsors, please contact Camille Quioge and/or Estelle, at 833-5337. Of course, all job applicants are welcome to attend!

Watch out for more details on this blog as we near Feb. 2.
